The Episcopal Church at TCNJ (Canterbury House)

“Where faith, doubt and differences are explored in community through the lens of scripture, tradition and reason.”

Monday Gathering/Service: 5:00 pm in the Spiritual Center

The Episcopal Service provides a contemplative Christian frame of reference and spiritual guidance to those interested in thoughtfully exploring who God is calling them to be in the world.

All are welcome.  We meet in the Meditation Room of the Spiritual Center.

Mindfulness Meditation: Mondays at 6:30 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:45 am, Wednesdays at 8:45 pm, and Fridays at 4 pm in the Spiritual Center.

These sessions are jointly sponsored by The Center for Mindfulness and Compassion, The Circle of Compassion (student group), and The Episcopal Church at TCNJ.  Through mindfulness one is able to develop nonjudgmental awareness and compassion.

Spiritual Direction:  Anyone affiliated with TCNJ is welcome to meet with the Episcopal Chaplain at TCNJ to explore matters of significance to you in a nonjudgmental and safe space. Contact caton@tcnj.edu.

Campus-wide Initiative to Promote Compassion:

The Circle of Compassion is a separate student organization that grew out of interfaith activities promoted by Canterbury House and the Interfaith CouncilCircle of Compassion strives to make our campus a more compassionate place through discussions, forums and action.  We are guided in this effort by the International Charter for Compassion (http://charterforcompassion.org) Their mission is to promote a cooperative effort to restore compassionate thinking and action to the center of religious, moral and political life.  For more information about the Circle of Compassion please go to Circleofcompassiontcnj.weebly.com,  Facebook at Circle of Compassion at TCNJ or e-mail us at circle@tcnj.edu.
